Apparently hackers have figured out how to read the number code in the box and enter a spam comment because I have begun to get a few. It seems that I am the only live person using this guestbook anyhow so, perhaps I should just take it off the website?
Welcome to our guestbook. This book is for you (anyone) to make a comment, express a concern, suggest an improvement or any other need regarding the website, the church or even the weather, if you like. : )
We installed this new guestbook system today because the previous system was being overwhelmingly spammed. This guestbook includes a security feature that will, perhaps, prevent the spamming, though it causes you a little trouble to enter the code from the box to the left inside the yellow border. If this code does not match what you enter in the blank, the comment will not be accepted. Also, because of spam, we prohibited comments from France and from the Russian Federation. That seems to have stopped the spam! : )
